Golf Plaisir and GoGolf start close cooperation to offer a wider range of quality traveling opportunities for finnish golfers
GoGolf and Swedish Golf Plaisir have agreed on a new strategic partnership. The new partnership will create a wider range of quality traveling opportunities for finnish golfers.
Golf Plaisir AB, the leading golf tour operator in the Nordic countries is seeking a strong foothold in Finland and will start a long-term cooperation with GoGolf Oy. With the partnership, GoGolf will start marketing and selling Golf Plaisir's trips in Finland.
Golf Plaisir CEO Peter Browall says he is very pleased that negotiations on a strategic partnership with GoGolf have been successfully completed and the collaboration can begin immediately. “GoGolf has a strong presence, knowledge and reach in the Finnish golf market. With GoGolf, we can offer our wide and diverse product range and services to Finnish golf tourists,” says Browall.
Travel agency Golfresepti, which is part of the GoGolf Group, will stop organizing its own group trips. Golf Plaisir will continue to be the responsible tour operator of GoGolf's theme trips. “Golf Plaisir’s comprehensive range of travel combined with GoGolf’s media reaching more than 100,000 different visitors a month is a great combination. Through the cooperation, we are able to offer our customers the widest possible golf travel offer,” says Paavo Kettunen, Chairman of the Board of GoGolf.
Jenni Viinikka, the COO of Golfresepti, will work as a travel expert for the new marketing name GoGolf Travel. Viinikka will also be responsible for the clientele of GoGolf's international travel partners.
Last year was challenging for the golf tourism business due to the corona pandemic and leisure travel will not be back to normal for a while. However, the corona vaccine is used to break down light at the end of the tunnel.
“The year 2021 will be exciting and challenging for golf tourism, but we are committed and ready to provide a world-class golf tourism experience as soon as customers are ready to travel again,” Browall says.
Golf Plaisir is the largest golf tour operator in the Nordic countries and forms together with Apollomatkat, the airline Novair, the specialist organizers Lime Travel and Xtravel and the sports resort Playitas, the group DER Touristik Nordic AB. Since 2015, the group have been part of the privately owned German group REWE with over 300,000 employees which operates in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. It organizes group trips, customized trips, and trips led by golf club professionals. Golf Plaisir has taken digitalization to the next level, making it very user-friendly to book golf trips.
