La Manga Club Drives Healthy Sports Lifestyle with New Vegan Menu

27 August 2019

Five-time motor racing world champion Lewis Hamilton and tennis aces Venus and Serena Williams are among the stars to have embraced a vegan diet to help them to sporting success, and sports fans can follow their lead at Spain’s La Manga Club this summer and autumn.

With increasing numbers of people opting to copy the example of leading sporting figures and celebrities by switching to a plant-based diet, the iconic resort has created a new vegan menu at its Amapola restaurant in the five-star Hotel Principe Felipe.

A long-term advocate of promoting a healthy lifestyle, La Manga Club’s latest menu features a range of tasty dishes including grilled marinated tofu with kimchee sauce and braised endives with quinoa and spiced sweet potato.
The new service adds to the extensive list of culinary treats on offer at La Manga Club, with guests having more than 15 bars and restaurants and a variety of global cuisines to choose from.

Among the options available, classic Mediterranean flavours can be found in abundance at the Amapola, La Bodega and La Cala resort restaurants, while Asia, India and Luigi restaurants also provide an incredible gastronomic experience without the need to leave the resort.

Situated in Murcia, south-east Spain, La Manga Club has set the benchmark for sports and leisure destinations across Europe for more than 45 years.

The official overseas training base of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), the resort’s facilities include three 18-hole golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and 2,000sqm Wellness Centre, while La Manga Club is the home to Spain’s only official Chelsea FC Foundation Soccer School. In addition, it features the choice of a five-star hotel and four-star serviced apartments and townhouses.
