The Association of Golf Courses of the Costa Blanca and Comunitat Valenciana (ACGCBCV), hand in hand and in collaboration with Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and Tourist Board of the Costa Blanca, is promoting the destination in the Open de France, an event of the DP World Tour that is being held in the vicinity of Paris.
France is a strategic market for the golf courses and hotels of the destination since French golfers can travel both by plane from French airports and by car looking for a milder climate in the months of autumn, winter and spring.
The ACGCBCV has a stand in the village of the tournament where it attends together with Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and where the companies displaced to this event are located and representing the golf courses and associated hotels as well as several sponsors of the ACGCBCV such as Centauro Rent-a-Car and Bodegas Nodus. This action seeks to strengthen commercial relations with tour operators who work the golf product in the French market as well as promoting the Costa Blanca and the Valencian Community as an international golf destination.
Golf is one of the most effective products to fight against tourist seasonality since its sales season does not include summer. It is estimated that this strategic value will increase as increasingly warm summers are generated that cause a loss of sun and beach tourists in favor of destinations with milder climate.
In addition to this important deseasonalizing value, golf tourism generates half a million overnight stays per year in hotels in the Valencian Community, an annual economic impact of almost seven hundred and fifty million euros and more than nine thousand jobs per year in the region.
