European Golf Resort 2009 Awarded To Hotel Dona Filipa & San Lorenzo Golf Resort

IGTM Marbella (Spain) 20th November 2008, over 300 golf tour operators from 45 countries
and Golf Press, voted for the annual awards of the International Association of
Golf Tour Operators. Hotel Dona Filipa & San Lorenzo Golf Resort, was declared
as Golf Resort of the Year 2009 in the European category.
Hotel Dona Filipa Director of Sales & Marketing Luis Filipe received the award
at the IAGTO Awards Gala Dinner held in Marbella, Spain on Nov. 20.
The IAGTO awards main objective is to distinguish companies and organisations for
their outstanding work, for the development of the Golf Travel Industry worldwide.
Tour Operators judged accordingly to customer satisfaction, quality of golf course
and accommodation, value for money, accessibility to tee times as well as speed
of communication and quality of service of the golf resort sales and marketing team.
The IAGTO – International Association of Tour Operators, have more then 1139 associated
companies in 74 countries, including more then 330 Tour Operators specialised in
Golf in 46 countries, responsible for more then 80% of the international sale of
Golf Packages.
In accepting the award Luis Filipe said, “On behalf of all the staff and the management

Tour Operators, IAGTO and Peter Walton, Reeds Exhibition and Mark Walsh, and the
golf press for this award. I would also like to express our most sincere appreciation

golf product in the Algarve”
The IAGTO Awards were established in 2000 to reward and recognize those exceptional
resorts in the world of golf travel.
