For the second edition of its annual awards in early September, Rio Real Golf & Hotel brought together Costa del Sol golf agencies, partner hotels and high-profile companies from the Costa del Sol tourism sector. As well as the chance to reward partners, the occasion was also an opportunity to bring everyone together, all those who enjoyed the event last year and new guests who have undoubtedly contributed to making it a total success.
The first activity of the evening was a Golf Clinic, organised by Sergio de Céspedes, Head Pro of the Rio Real Academy.
The golf course, in immaculate condition, delighted the more experienced players who were able to see first-hand not just the state of the course but also enjoy the surroundings, the beautiful scenery and the sea breeze away from their offices and computers.
Afterwards, there was a networking activity where hugs and kisses took centre stage. It’s always a lovely surprise to meet friends you have only ever spoken to on the phone.
The event was designed as a marketing exercise with an element of magic and lots of good-looking guests, above all partners who now form part of the Rio Real family. At dusk, the Rio Real team accompanied guests from the hotel lobby to the chill-out area round the pool for a welcome drink, followed by magnificent canapes created by the Grupo Dantonelas, and all against the stunning views over Rio Real golf course.
Juan Manuel Dicenta, a well-known journalist and Cadena Ser radio presenter, was once again master of ceremonies with Antonio Gómez, Río Real Sales Director, at his side. The two of them presented the 2018 Awards.

- Most Dynamic Golf Agency Trophy + Experience in “El Bar Resalao de Dani García” Lobito de Mar went to Golf in Spain.
- Forever Sunshine Award 2018 + voucher for Fuerte Hoteles went to Sunshine Golf.
- Best Family Award 2018 + 1 voucher for the Hotel Elba Estepona went to CostaLessGolf.
- Lady Award 2018 + 1 voucher for the Hotel Iberostar Málaga Playa went to Brigitte Golf Bookings.
- Trophy for Consistency + 1 voucher for the Hotel Sol Marbella Estepona Atalaya Park went to Viajes Benamar.
- Golf Costa del Sol Golf Trophy + 1 voucher for the Hotel Royal Hideaway went to Antonio Abellán from Meliá Hoteles.
This year, the Honorary Prize went to Maribel Calderón, Caddy Master at Río Real for her dedication for over 40 years.
