Staff members at the iconic Trump Turnberry launched their annual fundraising campaign in style after donning kilts and taking to the streets of Glasgow to raise £21,022 for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
Nineteen members of the Turnberry Titans hit the city’s pavements to take part in The Kiltwalk – an annual event which forms part of a busy programme of fundraising activities that the group will take part in this year.
The fundraising team walked an impressive combined total of 297 miles during the event, with some members taking the challenge in their stride and walking the marathon distance of 26 miles on the day.
Members of the Turnberry Titans were on hand to present the cheque for £21,022 to the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity this week.
Ralph Porciani, general manager at Trump Turnberry, said: "With a bigger team and more momentum this year, we are striving to raise a record-breaking amount for charities this year.
“The Kiltwalk was a great way to launch a busy year of fundraising for the Turnberry Titans and everyone that took part really got into the spirit of the day and went the extra mile.”
The Turnberry Titans group was started in 2015 to raise funds and awareness for two partner charities – the Glasgow Children's Hospital and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
The organisation will stage a series of fundraising events over the coming months including its popular Ladies’ Lunch on August 26 and a St. Andrew's Day Ceilidh on November 25.
