Top Chefs and Club Golf D'Aro create the perfect reicpe in Costa Brava tournament

02 July 2019

Club Golf D’Aro Mas Nou provided the ingredients as many of the top chefs added the extra spice to the Costa Brava’s Golf & Gastronomy Tournament.

More than 90 golfers ascended the steep route to the spectacular course, which enjoys a lofty position 300m above sea level – one of seven outstanding venues in the province of Girona.

With incredible views from the Gavarres mountains and down towards the resort of Platjo D’Aro and the Costa Brava coastline, expert chefs were among the guests to ensure D’Aro Mas Nou’s customary high standards were met – particularly in the post-round lunch for competitors.

The cooks of La Cuina de l'Empordanet showcased their skills with a selection of typical and delicious gastronomy of the region, while club professionals, Pedro Martinez Ildefonso Torrado and Joan Anglada repaid the favour with a coaching clinic as the chefs swapped their spoons for golf clubs.

With fund also raised at the event for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), there was excellent support from a host of sporting celebrities from the region with former Barcelona stars Pep Mune, Pitxi Alonso, Victor Muñoz, Paco Martinez and Ramon Ventosa Alesanco among those taking part.

Rocio Aranda of club Golf D’Aro said: “It was an honour to host such a fantastic event and to welcome so many guests to our club. Costa Brava is famous for the quality of the golf and our local food – it was the perfect combination.”
