Fancourt is a world class golfing destination and this requires continuous investment and maintenance. We strive to ensure that our guests and members have an exceptional golfing experience and with this in mind the team has been hard at work re-evaluating our golf offering and procedures to ensure members and guests get the most out of their golfing experience at Fancourt. As a result the following changes and investment will be taking place.
1. Montagu Golf Course Closure
The Montagu course will be undergoing resurfacing; which entails removal of greens surface, replacing of sand, fumigating and seeding of greens, stripping and removing 1.5m kikuyu grass from the perimeter of greens, sodding around greens with new kikuyu and finally checking, cleaning and mapping of Montagu greens; and be closed from 16 April 2018 till the 22 September 2018.
The Outeniqua and The Links courses will continue to operate as normal over this period to ensure that our golfers still have a memorable golfing experience on the estate.
2. Splitting the usage of the Montagu and Outeniqua courses
From 01 March 2018 the Montagu and Outeniqua courses will be “split” in usage and alternated between the Fancourt Country Club Members and our hotel guests. On a particular day one course will be allocated exclusively to hotel and the other for Members use. The courses will then be alternated the following day for Members and guests alike.
During the period of the Montagu course closure the Outeniqua course will be “alternated” on a morning and afternoon basis respectively.
We are confident that this move will allow our Members and hotel guests more efficient access and usage to our courses and allow us the ability to better manage the golf experience.
3. Increase in caddy fees
In maintaining the level and sustainability of our caddy service and guest experience we wish to deliver, we have needed to as of 01 June 2017, increase the caddy fees from R210 to R265 per caddy per round and R40 of this will be allocated to the caddy management fee. This rate will be valid till 31 October 2018 and will apply to all new bookings and all confirmed bookings in our system will be honoured at the existing rate.
This increase in the caddy management fee will now incorporate a contribution to the Fancourt Caddy Foundation Trust which in part helps to assist the caddy’s through the winter period when there are less rounds on offer to ensure their trade is sustainable throughout the year.
4. Fancourt Country Club Day Visitor Rates
In the interests of ensuring that our Members and hotel guests have priority access to the golf courses during our high season and to make more tee times available to them, we have limited the number of day visitors in our high season to 3 x 4 balls per day.
We have also increased our day visitor rates in our high season and as of 01 June 2017 the Day Visitor rate will increase as follows:
In high season (01 November 2017 to 31 March 2018 and 01 to 31 October 2018) from R1095 to R1750 per person for all new bookings. All confirmed bookings in our system will be honoured.
In low season (01 April 2017 to 31 October 2017) the rate will remain at R950 per person.
5. STO Contract Amended
As a result of some of the above changes the following amendments in the payment and cancellation fees will apply with regard golf bookings;
Day Visitors golf rates
All reservations to be paid in full on reservation.
100% cancellation fee will apply should the booking be cancelled.
Hotel Guests
Montagu and Outeniqua Golf Course cancellation fees:
Group - 7 days or less - 100% cancellation fee
FIT - 48 hrs or less - 100% cancellation fee
The Links cancellation fees:
Group - 14 days and less - 100% cancellation fee
FIT - 7 days or less - 100% cancellation fee
6.The Links tee time slots
We have revised our hotel guest slots which will be available at The Links effective from 01 October 2017 as follows;
Winter (8 slots) April to September 2018
08:45, 09:00, 09:15, 09:30, 11:00, 11:15, 11:30 and 13:00
Summer (10 slots) October 2017 to November 2017
07:30 and 07:45 (2 ball time slots only)
08:45, 09:00, 09:15, 11:00, 11:15, 13:00, 13:15 and 13:30
Summer (10 slots) December 2017 to March 2018
07:30 and 07:45 (2 ball time slots only)

9. Reservations
In the interest of ensuring a better guest experience for our clients and guests, we have created a “central reservations” office that will handle both the hotel and golf reservations functions within one team. The office will be managed by Louise Joubert and will be working closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth reservations experience.
